With the use of the MRI – Genus Focus technique, the laying hen flocks meet the requirements of the German market. Germany was the first country in the world to ban the killing of male chicks on day of birth. In the Netherlands, there is no ban yet, but there is an effort obligation. With this sex determination technique, we can scan both white and brown eggs before the 13th day of hatching, as well as eggs from young hens and older flocks. With the current 5 MRI – machines we can smoothly set up rearing farms with a size of 250,000 chicks within 1 week.
